How dividend income is calculated
Estimated annual income equals the number of shares multiplied by the annual dividend per share. When a company pays quarterly, four expected payments are used to estimate a full year.
For example, 100 shares paying $0.50 each quarter produce an estimated $200 per year. The monthly average is about $16.67, even though the actual cash payments may arrive only four times during the year.
Combine CAD and USD dividends
Canadian and U.S. holdings can be viewed together. U.S.-dollar values are converted using the USD/CAD rate displayed in the tracker, including its source and last update time.
The amount deposited by a broker can differ because of currency conversion spreads, withholding taxes, account type and changes announced by the company.
